Trip Length
Getting to Catanduanes is totally worth it!
If you’re coming from Manila, it takes about 15 to 16 hours by land and sea. You’ll usually hop on an overnight bus (10–12 hours) to Tabaco City Port and then take a 3 to 4-hour RoRo ferry to either San Andres or Virac Port.
Even though it's a bit of a trek, the journey is pretty cool, as you switch from roads to open water, building up the excitement as you get closer to the stunning islands of the Philippines.
For a quicker and more convenient way to get to Catanduanes, you can just fly straight from Manila to Virac Airport, and it’ll only take about an hour and a half.
Flying is a lot faster compared to the land-and-sea trip, making it a great option for anyone short on time. Just keep in mind that flights are usually pricier, especially during busy travel seasons.
Tip: If you’re thinking about flying, try to book as early as you can to snag lower prices and better flight times.
Whether you go for speed or save some cash, both ways will take you on a unique adventure to the island.
